Our Story

From the creative culinary minds that brought WOOD to Lakeview, Chicago welcomes Salero to Restaurant Row. Salero’s Executive Chef/Partner Ashlee Aubin is lauded by Chicago Tribune’s Phil Vettel as “a force to be reckoned with in Chicago”. Located In the heart of the West Loop on bustling Randolph Street, Salero is close to McCormick Place and major hotels. Salero offers an upscale, yet casual dining experience devoting its concept to the flavors of Spain, specifically the Basque region. The current winter menu includes an extensive selection of pinxtos (The Basque region’s equivalent to tapas) including an oxtail stuffed piquillo pepper. Raciones include favorites such as octopus a la plancha and chorizo stuffed quail. The innovative Platos Principales menu offers whole grilled lobster or lubina, grilled berkshire pork chop or a vegetarian confit potatoes a la plancha. Flan de queso fresco, chocolate cremeux, churros, or a cheese plate are a perfect way to end the meal.

The beverage program boasts an extensive list of Spanish wines, an unparalleled sherry list and a craft cocktail program that features innovative and unique Spanish gin and tonics, sangrias and a variety of others.

Our private event/dining space can accommodate a group of 15 to 50 guests for a full service sit down lunch, dinner or business meeting and up to 75 guests if you are hosting a cocktail party. We can create menus for your event that consist of a la carte options or family style dining. The event space is equipped with audio visual equipment to use for your next business meeting, wedding shower or rehearsal dinner and the space includes its own private bar.
